2010: Something Every Day (010, 011)

2010/01/10
The 10th wasn't a terribly productive day for me, but I had a good time with my wife and her family, just having a lazy Sunday. I did manage to ink one of Brandy's sketches, so I'm counting it as "something"...

2010/01/11
Today I wrote and recorded this song, called "Dream Song". I wrote, played and recorded everything myself. First song I've managed to poop out in a few weeks, so I'm quite happy.

CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS "DREAM SONG"

confession. take a knee.
implode.
in borrowed robe and mask.
denmark.

they all know you.
you've been found out.

who does that punk think he is?
i am a man of medicine.
who does that bitch think she is?

the smell of death.
the smell of teenage whore.
i'm in trouble now.

run home and kiss your wife.
pillow.
sin. muscle memory.
denmark.

...and I also made this piece...

2010: Something Every Day (006)

Played drums a bit today. My right wrist is bothering me, and my right ear. I'm trying not to let it worry me too much...Knowing me, a lot of it is mental. Organized some books in the basement, found a lot of goodies I'd forgotten about. I also managed to finish this painting. The title "Misty Harmon" is the name of a girl I knew in middle school (she was the older sister of one of my first girlfriends), who tried to commission me to paint some flowers for her to go with her kitchen's color scheme. She'd seen some art I'd done, and thought I'd do a good job. I think I was happy/honored, and responded positively to her request, but never did make any flowers for her, and I have no idea why. Probably because I was in sixth grade and was a lazy idiot. So, like, seventeen years later, here's an attempt:

2010: Something Every Day (005)

2010/01/05: Painted these four pieces while listening to Jimi Hendrix. They play the same fucking Jimi Hendrix songs on the radio over and over, so it's easy to think you're "sick of hearing Jimi Hendrix", when you're really just sick of radio programming. Jimi Hendrix was FU-CKING BRILL-IANT. Wow, wow, wow. By the way: Listening to "Machine Gun", I realized "Oh, this is where Alice In Chains got the idea for all their harmonies." A great, great night. I'm very excited.

2010: Something Every Day (003, 004)

2010/01/03: Did some drawings with Colors on my Nintendo DS.

2010/01/04: Painted Kim's cat statue. It used to be white, but she hated it. I spray painted it and came up with this:

Also recorded a mix of Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" and Ace Of Base's "Don't Turn Around" with Virtual DJ...

2010: Something Every Day (001, 002)

I'm going to try to produce something every day in 2010. If I can't write a song, I'll paint a painting. If I can't finish a painting, I'll do a small drawing. As long as I have something to prove I was creative and productive in some way, every day for a year. Not for some quantity over quality bullshit, just a way to make sure I stay on task, and not piss any days away doing absolutely nothing. Wish me luck, fucks.

I decided to post my progress here just today, so I'm a couple days behind. Here's what I've got so far:

2010/01/01: CREATED "CORNLSSN" MUSIC VIDEO
A video I made for my song "Cornlssn", using animation clips I've created over the past few months with Animanatee on my Nintendo DS.
